Introduction

Hey, thank you for your interests, here you will find the prep guide with lots of useful information regarding before, during and after your photo session and some pricing information - the pricing will be at the bottom of the page. I am Samantha, a mother to 3 children & a coffee lover. I started photography 9 years ago and my love of photography has only grown as well as my knowledge. It’s not just about taking photograph, it is capturing those precious little features of your new babies and capturing the raw feelings of the over whelming emotions of finally meeting your true love. Babies are only small for a short time, so this is why I love being able to freeze those precious memories for you to treasure and look back on for many years to come.

Your babies safety is my top priority, I am constantly keeping up to date with education

around posing safely with newborns within my photography. Also, I like to keep the area

calm free so if your baby is not happy within a pose or wrapped then we will move on. Your little one will rule their photoshoot, so a lot of patience is required and if baby would like a break, a break they get.

I am fully insured through policy bee

I have a university degree within early childhood studies

Preperation guide

The most important part of preparing your newborn baby for their photo shoot is that you aim to keep your baby awake for two hours prior to your session if possible. Ideally give them a bath, let them kick around and then give them a full feed just before coming to your session – that way your baby should be nice and sleepy for the photo shoot. They will have had time to digest their milk and bring up any wind they may have. If you have a long journey to the studio then you may need to give them a top up feed before we start the session.

Dress your babies in clothes that do not need to be removed over the head as this can disturb them when we are undressing them so avoid putting them in a vest.

If bottle feeding please bring plenty of bottles; your baby will feed more than normal during the session due to the warmth in the studio.

For photographs your baby will be unclothed but posed so all the ‘important bits’ are not on show. The studio will be kept very warm for their comfort. So please bear in mind that you will be very warm too so come dressed in layers and bring spare clothes for yourself in case of accidents.

Your newborn will poo and wee on all the props. This is natural and expected. Please do not feel embarrassed when this happens.

Don’t worry about baby acne or little scratches, these will be softly edited.

If your baby has a dummy please bring it. This will help settle your baby throughout their session when transitionning into poses. Do not worry as the dummy will be taken out once baby is settled for their photo taken.

Please refrain from taking images on your mobile phones during the shoot. We will supply you with a sneak peek edited image with our logo on, for use on social media that you can show your friends and family. Images taken on your phone during a shoot do not reflect the quality of our work and we are therefore not happy with them on social media.

Nursing Nutrition guide

Foods to avoid while nursing:-

To help keep your baby happy and wind free in preparation for their newborn session, please find below some listed foods that we recommend you try to avoid beginning two days prior to your session if you are breast feeding.

This guide is a suggestion only

If you are breastfeeding the most important thing to avoid is strong coffee and caffeine. In our experience this will be very detrimental to your session and potentially limit the amount of images we get.

onions - peppers

broccoli - cauliflower

cabbage - asparagus

cucumbers - beans

pineapple - oranges

lemons - grapefruit

Good Foods to eat

Babies experiencing wind or tummy discomfort may feel uncomfortable during their photo session. It’s important we work together to keep the baby soothed and calm as possible.

What to expect

B E F O R E  Y O U R  S E S S I O N

Before your session we will discuss your visions and what type of images you would like or

any colour that you would like me to include within the photos. Therefore, this helps me to set up your session to how you may want. If you do not have anything in mind, not to worry I will design your session from what we may discuss regarding colours, the job you may have or hobbies you may have. This helps to provide your session to be as unique for yourself and

your family.

Also please follow the guides on the preparation page before your session

Once you arrive, we can have a sit down and have a chat and this gives you the chance to feel comfortable around myself to hold your precious little one. Safety is my high priority of your little one and I am always updating with knowledge and training but also you as parents feelings are another high priority, therefore this gives me the chance for you to feel calm around myself. The session it self can take anything up to 3/4 hours as your little one is the boss and we do not want him/her to be in any distress so if they need a break then they get a break. There is no rush when it comes to the session so bring plenty snacks for yourself and make yourself at home. The room will be kept warm for your little one as they cannot control their temperature so please wear layers or bring some spare just incase you feel warm.

Once your session has finished and we got plenty of stunning images, though if your little one had an off day then we can rebook. I will go through all your images and proof edit the best ones, as some images are duplicates and of focus which then can determine your gallery amount. You will then be invited back to the studio to view them with refreshments and view any samples or to discuss any products that you would like 7-10 days after. Or you can view your images on a password protected online gallery in the comfort of your own home to choose your final images you would like within your package and you are able to choose extras. Once you have done so, I will finish your final images and have your order prepared. This can take an extra 2 weeks from you choosing your final images. Therefore the sooner you choose the sooner you will receive your images. If you would like albums and wall arts - the process could take up to 28 days for preparation and the lab to complete orders.
